English as the international language in scientific research: barriers or opportunities?

The journal Nature recently highlighted a study on the impact of predominantly (or exclusively?) English-language international research on non-English speakers. Most of us have encountered this challenge with varying degrees of ease, and we have certainly developed different adaptation strategies that may have evolved over time. Beyond the difficulties, this language barrier raises questions about knowledge sharing and inclusivity.
