Stormwater infiltration management practices is one of the main objectives of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS). To mitigate the effect of urban expansion in the hydrology of watersheds and the effects of climate changes,  SuDS are more and more widely disseminated throughout urban catchments, mainly (i) to reduce the volumes of water transiting through the pipes, thus limiting the discharge of these polluted waters into the aquatic receiving environments (environmental issue, flood risk). ; (ii) to promote deep infiltration and thus to recharge groundwater systems. This decentralized management of urban water has multiple co-benefits: economic (reduction of the linear network, costly investment and maintenance), environmental (limitation of polluted urban rainwater discharges in order to restore a good ecological status of aquatic environments), nature in the city and fight against heat islands for example, flood risk management, and ethical (towards a resilient city). A decision support tools is developping to assist communities  to define urban water disconnection strategies and to identify nature-based technologies to be implemented for the treatment of these waters, intended to be reintegrated into the receiving environments or directed towards a reuse cycle.
