The new co-direction team includes : Dr. Jennie Thomas, Dr. Hélène Angot, and Dr. Emmanuel Cosme. This team is working towards envisioning a program for the school that honors the long history of the research school (since 1993) and adapts the program program for new era of atmospheric and interdisciplinary research for PhD students.
The new directors include :
Dr. Jennie Thomas, CNRS Researcher, specializes in atmospheric chemistry modeling with a specific focus on the Arctic region including and links to the changing cryosphere.
Dr. Hélène Angot, CNRS Researcher, specializes in measurement and modeling of atmospheric contaminant including a focus on the global and Arctic mercury cycles.
Dr. Emmanuel Cosme, associate professor University Grenoble Alpes, specialized in inverse problems and data assimilation with main applications in physical oceanography, with a strong experience in doctoral training.
Together, the new directors bring a diverse set of skills and perspectives to ERCA, poised to advance the frontiers of atmospheric science and address pressing environmental challenges facing our planet. The appointment the new direction team reflects ERCA’s long standing commitment to fostering excellence centered on atmospheric research serving both the reserach community and society through communications, engagement, and excellence in PhD training.
