News from the Trace Gas Continuum : Observing halocarbons in the troposphere and stratosphere

Séminaire de Johannes Laube (Institute for Energy and Climate 7, Germany), mardi 3 décembre 10-11h, salle Lliboutry, Bât. de Glaciologie

Abstract : There are numerous trace gases present in the atmosphere. The diversity of these gases increases with decreasing concentration, so that at parts per trillion (ppt) and sub-ppt levels it has been called a "trace gas continuum". Focusing on ground- and aircraft-based measurements I will present several examples of known and recently discovered gases that can have significant environmental impacts despite their low abundances.
