Amsterdam Island

Amsterdam Island is a 10km wide rock situated in the southern Indian Ocean, 3400km and 5000km downwind from the nearest lands, Madagascar and South Africa, respectively.
The Hi-vol sampler was installed at the Pointe Bénédicte station, at the northwest end of the island, 55m above sea level and 2km west of the scientific base (30 residents at most).
The 2 month campaign took place from September to October 2016 thanks to the collaboration of the French Polar Institute IPEV program GMOstral.
